  • WHY DO I NEED TO TRIM MY WICK BEFORE LIGHTING?

Trimming your wick will help you to prolong the life of your candle.

 When a wick is not trimmed, it can after some time cause mushrooming - this is curling and black mounds at the top of your wick. It will begin to release soot and may result in you candle burning  quicker.

  • WHY DO I HAVE BLACK SOOT AROUND THE SIDES OF MY JAR?

Most likely because you may have done one if not all of the following;

  1. Burnt your candle for longer than the recommended time frame of up to 3-4hrs at a time.
  2. Not trimmed your wick prior to burning & leaving it to burn for longer than the recommended period of time.
  3. Your candle may have dust, dirt, or debri in your wax.

  • WHY SHOULD I BURN MY CANDLE FOR 3-4 HOURS ON THE FIRST BURN?

We recommended burning your candle till it reaches its full wax pools - meaning it has melted all the way to the sides of your jar.

Candles create a memory. If you are burning your candle for less then the recommended burn time, it will begin to tunnel (not reach the outsides of your jar), resulting in leaving a large amount of unmelted wax around the side.

The recommended burn time for most candles is up to 3-4 hours, or until the wax pools has reached the side of the jar (that’s the top layer of your candle being completely or as close as possible melted).

The candle memory once started will continue to burn throughout the remainder of your jar leaving you with a large amout of unused wax.

  • HOW DO I REMOVE ANY REMAINDER WAX FROM MY JAR?

Wash your jars in warm soapy water to remove any left over wax or alternatively fill your jar with warm water & leave to sit. The wax will melt & then reset at the top of your jar making it easy for you to remove.

**We recommend handwashing you jars when you have finished burning them, as they are not dishwasher safe**
